July
Updates
Greetings and Blessings!
Time for a long over due update on SMPPD happenings and there
are lots of wonderful things to report indeed.
Now that the monthly volunteer meetings are being held at
my homestead in Gorham we have room to stretch our minds and
our legs. The
past two meetings have been very productive with some great
ideas being hashed out. I strongly encourage anyone who can
attend to
join us around the fire pit at our next meeting on July 29th
at 6:30. Check the files section at Yahoo Volunteer List for
driving
direction. While you are there you may like to join the group
to stay up to date on SMPPD happenings and to have direct access
to the board members as well as other volunteers.
Now on to the big news. On the inside front cover of the latest New
Witch Magazine you will find Pentacle
Press's new
ad in which they have been so kind to add a listing of our event!
This is
nation wide advertising folks for which we are deeply thankful
for. Again, we give our heartfelt thanks to Kevin and all the
fine people at Pentacle Press for all the support they have
shown us over the past years.
On
the financial front; Junes yard sale
fund raiser was a great success taking in a bit over $150
dollars. This event is a great example of why our volunteers
are the
most important asset to SMPPD. Every item sold was donated
or collected
by volunteers. The sale was run by volunteers, who had a very
good time may I add, and it will continue to be those who
give of their time and talents that make SMPPD the fun, educational
and above all community based event that it has become.
That
said, we are now in our last couple months of preparation
and
it is
now that we need you the most.Be
an active member of a lively and vibrant community and have
a blast at the same time! GET
INVOLVED! There are many roles to be filled, so come to
the volunteer meeting
in July or drop us an e-mail letting us know you want
to join in the fun.
Happiest of summer blessings from the directors of Southern
Maine Pagan Pride Day!
